After reading Jackknife's story about the whittler, I stopped by a hobby shop and picked up a piece of bass wood to try my hand at whittling while I wait for some steel to arrive. I decided to do this with my Case Chestnut Swayback since my Chestnut stockman gets all of the pocket time. So far I am impressed with the sturdyness of this little guy. Before I fugured that I needed to cut along the grain to remove the wood it was handling the across the grain cutting just fine. The edge is holding very well also. I have two new blisters to show off at work tommorrow also. See what ya gone and done jackknife.
