SWCUT JB1 is the tang stamp. I assume this is a Schrade Walden Cutlery tang stamp. It is a Jim Bowie Limited Edition. The main blade has 'Jim Bowie Commemorative' etch. It has three blades, fine sawcut derlin slabs and a minature image of the Bowie Knife on one side with a oval shield on the other. I picked this up in the original box in a pawn shop on Main St. about 20+ years ago. It's in good shape but not perfect (95%). Were very many of these manufactured? Has it retained it's value? I've been cataloging my collection and would like to have any pertinent info. Thanks.

Judging from recent eBay sales... oh yeah, these Schrades have held their value and then some. Saw one with no box/paperwork that went for $60.. and I decided not to snipe at this one:

According to my J.Bruce Voyles Guide to Commemorative knives, there were 18,000 of these produced with a selling price of $20.

I seem to have misplaced my Levines guide to knives, and I thought I had seen this Bowie listed there. One of the other members will be along shortly with any more info, if there is any.

Glad you stopped in to see us.

Phil,
You are correct (as usual)....it is on page 162 of BRL's Guide #4. It is listed as a 4" Stockman issued in 1975.

P.S.
IT was not designed by Blackie Collins either...... :o :D

Thanks guys! That's the knife! Mine is not as cherry as that one, apparently it was carried a time or two but no scratches or sharpening. I will include all of this info in my catalog file for this knife.
