I must be losing my mind. I can't for the life of me find Sweany's winning ugly knife. I kind of lost a couple days posting here and things slipped. I looked through the ugly knife threads, but didn't see it. Mark? Sweany? I'd liek to see it so I can make fun of it! :p

Geebus, Mike. That there knife is uglier'n a bucket of mashed a$$holes! Looks like it's been living inside of IG's rectum for a year or so. Yep, I reckon you deserve the title. Good onya! So hey Mike Burch... what's the trophy look like?
 
I'll post some pics tonight -- I've got the painting . . . I mean gold plating done and just need to attach it to a base. :D

Hey I got some stuff to contribute to the winner's loot :D (if interested):
Matched pieces of padouk (4" x 1.5" x .25") , 3 beat up, old files found at a yard sale (the middle and left spark high carbon, the one on the right not so high), two trashed edger blades found on the street (make decent scrapers) and one unused acid brush. Congrats Sweany!

That knife was buried in cow cookies for probably 20 years. Just like a peat bog, no oxy. just a little acid etch.

Yea, I couldn't find it either, until I noticed someone else posted the pic! Sweaney, that *is* one butt ugly blade (I mean that in a nice way)! ...and it's cool that you still have it around after all these years. I'll have your forge lining kit on it's way by the end of the week! :)
