Catchy name huh? Anyway i wanted to do a 4 inch blade knife for general woodsbumming and edc. I am not a big scandi guy,and the traditional bushcrafter is better left for other makers. This pattern developed from a small edc i did based on my favorite kitchen knife earlier in the year..i have used this knife for a few general tasks and done some light batoning on cedar..its a good cutter, but had some mistakes i couldnt let it be sold so i guess ill keep her. Call it a teaching project ..

01 tool steel 1/8 inch stock..blade 4.125 inches..OAL 8 3/8 inches. Flat ground ,beveled edge, hand rubbed 400 grit finish, black linen micarta handles and stainless fittings. 9 oz hand stitched ,tooled leather sheath. the strap on the front is to hold the ignition plier pouch i built as i am not a fan of multi tools.thanks for looking..

Looks great. Luke made me a knife for Iraq and its awesome.

very nice Luke... that thing looks great... i was checking that out over at hoodwoods...

What was wrong with it? Looks like a perfectly good knife.

That's a question that was echoed to Luke all weekend last week. Best part was, he couldn't point it out. Nothing wrong, he's just anal retentive about his knives.:p

It's an awsome pattern, I'm still trying to scheme a plan to steal it.

Well I didnt put enough scale protector on during heat treat and i sanded off the top of the "E" in my stamp..and there was a mistake on the mark side plunge that made it imperfect..see shotty just cuz u couldnt tell doesnt mean it wasnt there ha..later Luke

Okay, I'll be full on on feedback:

Looks like a very good knife. I'm not a huge fan to the contour style, but that's me. And it looks very well done.

I like the profile and grind a lot. I might have moved the ricasso file cut forward a hair to keep a stone off the plunge. But I might not have.

Skive the top edge of the sheath to match the skiving on the welt seam edges. And radius the top corners just a touch.

Straps are best done in a seperate step from the stitching of the sheath itself, that way the strap can be repaired/replaced/removed without the sheath suffering any. Ans yes, I know very well how much of a bitch it is to do it that way! :D :D :D So does Koyote Girl. It's worth it. and you may have done it that way, and just put stitches all the way to the outside of the strap (which is a wear issue, that's why we do it the other way)

I think it's a good knife and a better than average sheath! thumbs up for sure!
