Swedge & blade length?

This may sound like a silly question but does haviing a swedge put on a classic 2000 blade shorten it at all?

I only ask because a friend brought his classic 2000 to show me at work today and when put side by side with mine, the blade on his was a couple of mm longer

The differences in the two knives are;

mine lefthanded and S30v with a swedge
his right handed BG42
