swedge?

anyone,
on the chris reeve site, there is an option of a small swedge. what is this, please describe and show a picture if possible. also, what is the reason for the swedge?

A swedge is a bevel ground along the spine of a blade. It's basically cosmetic. Take care.

Are you sure about the swedge being mostly cosmetic? It is my understanding that it turns the blade more into a clip point blade style; i.e. more like the classic blade style. I would like to clarify this with someone and possibly have a picture posted by a forum member. Anyone that could help would be great. RW

The "Swedge" is an Accent Grind on the top edge of the blade. It indeed does give the appearance of a clip style. The LDC series all had this.
