Greetings,

I recently saw the photo of a SHSH (with slotted bolts), that had a swedged blade. Curious if that option was ever offered by Busse, or if I'm viewing an aftermarket alteration.

I will take your comments off the air - with thanks for your answers in advance.

Cheers

If its the one in the recent sale pics that wasnt offered I would say it was probaly a direct offerings of which was limited/1 offish. I base that mainly on the seller and his history.
Cheers

eta if its that other one that I wont mention, aftermarket I would say
etax2, that does look pretty nice/clean/busse'ish, hmmmm : P

Are you referring to a swedge or a clip point?

this is a clip point SHSH

on the right blade here you can see a swedge ground along the spine

Bill Siegle put a nice swedge on a couple SHSHIIs .....might be one of those

Thanks. It is the one on eB. Swedged like the far right example on resinguy's photo, with a full SH spine...Cheers.

That aftermarket swedge should have no affect on warranty of the knife, if you were concerned about that.

Of course, if one were to break a SHSH, Busse cannot replace it, but will give you Shop credit for the original retail price of the knife.

Thanks resinguy! More concerned on looks, and alteration that may affect collectable value - than warranty. I used to camp extensively, may do so again, may not - but beyond that, I just collect the knives - because I like them!

I have a Sarq., and have mixed feelings on the swedge. Prefer a full spine, by a wee margin...Cheers.

Man.....I wish I hadn't seen that.....

Now I want it......
LOL! :D I had a similar feeling!

Regarding collecting because you like them, I feel the same way (and we are not alone in this forum :D ).

I do like some of the swedges, like on the Zero Tolerance series, SHBM/ASHBM 1/300, and others, but it is certainly a personal like/dislike.

I wish the seller well. But that asking price is too high for an aftermarket modded knife.....

That's what I thought. It's back up there with a lowered reserve. Still looks high to this novice's eyes.
