Swedging The Manix? Who/How..

i can almost picture my fave spydie, the manix, being POTENTIALLY improved (for my taste) with a swedge on the spine of the blade, almost like a larger version of the native, well, sorta. this thought spawned from how sebs can be ordered with a swedge from the factory. can anyone direct me to a bladesmith who can do such a thing with skill & finesse? if i think about this too much, it might begin to sound like a bad/dumb idea, but please indulge me with your sources. thanks!

Are you sure you'd want to do that? With a full flat grind, there's already so little steel there. You would be weakning the blade a fair bit.

The native has a swedge because the main grind is a low saber, and the swedge increase penetration while decreasing weight.

great point. i knew that the more i thought about it the worse an idea it might become. anyway, any suggestions about guys who do extensive customization of existing knives?

Chase Axinn will do it.

I had a friend who asked him to swedge a Yojimbo and replace the G10 scales with CF.

Now that's something I wouldn't do personally, but it came out nicely.
