Swedish axe from SPG

Got two of these this week. One is a bit special.


It looks the head has been put on backwards on a shortened handle.


Interestingly, the head has Jersey pattern type ears.



Can't see any maker's marks yet. Will get the old paint off it this weekend and see what shows up.

Thats funny. Maybe someone had more use for a sledge hammer than an axe.
My guess its a Säter Banko.

I've seen upside down but that's the first backwards I've seen. Pretty funny.

I think that axe was the last chicken in the shop at SPG. Oh well, it's gonna get a new handle now.

Wow....I got mine about 2+ weeks ago from SG. I guess I didn't realize just how lucky I was with the draw of the axes I received.

The other axe I got is a Hulks Burk with a decent head and a lot of overstrike damage to the wood. It'll be a good project too.

KingKoma, the profile of that axe head certainly looks like the one I've got. Thanks for posting that.
