Click here for pictures Here Is a picture of a swedish butterfly I have in my collection .This knife was made in sweden and has a spring loaded latch .This works by the latch is pinned to a round post that is fixed to a spring in the handle alowing the latch to move up and down making the handles tight .Instead of your standard 3 pin system this knife has the tang pin on the non-latch handle that fits into a hole on the latch handle .When the knife is in the closed position the top end of the closed blade works as a screwdriver also !The knife has the word KNIVFABRIKEN stamped on the tang .Im not sure how old it is but it was made out of heavy folded sheet metal .

I have seen a couple of those...but can't help with the vintage. I'm sure someone can though. Email Chuck at:

http://www.BalisongCollector.com

He will probably have some information (if not lots) :)

Thanks for posting the picture!

I do remember seeing that on the site, but I concentrated on the Hackman when I read it because of the rumors about CIA use.
As menitoned I've seen a few of those Swede versions, but none in good condition at all.

Hey, i wish that Sweden had a still on-going bali-song manufacturing process :(

Btw Knivfabriken Gnosjö means Knifefactory [in] Gnosjö, the factory was called Knivfabriken and it was located in Gnosjö.
Gnosjö is well known in Sweden for their special sprit of innovation and hardwork, simly called Gnosjöandan ([the] Gnosjöspirit)

I wish that my example was in such good condition as Gollnicks, not a very good flipper though...at least mine isn't.
