How many of you know that "knife" is "kniv" in Swedish, Norwegian, and Danish? Personally, I like the term kniv much better. Shorter, sounds better, easier to type, etc. For this reason I prefer the site (( which-is-not-to-be-named-because-it's SPAM )) when looking for knife information. I also like their international focus.

i prefer the pronunciation of knife , not that it matters anyway...its just a name for a thing that i like, but i still prefer the english knife to other languages...
but thats just me ...

No it doesn't really matter but it's fun to debate anyway :). Kniv (pronounced "niv") is about as simple as it gets. Does anyone know the words for "knife" in other languages?

No , it's pronounced "kniv" !! English speakers seem to have a difficulty pronouncing 'kn'. If you know history ,the Norwegian King Knute has been translated to King Canute in English !

its pronounced 'cutzit' in romanian
nephildevil, il come to you town for a few days in october, maybe you'l tell me about some nice knife shops :D
