I like them both, but in regards to the knives I have always been partial to the Puukko. Most Finnish knives have tangs that run the entire length of the handle and are peened at the end.

Had the saw for about 8 years, but it somehow made it t the bottom of my gear bag. Marttiini M571 is getting hard to find these days.

Falkniven knives are Japanese, not Swedish.

Yes the blade steel is from Japan (as they will not allow VG10 to be exported in raw form), but the knives are of Swedish design and Fallkniven is a Swedish company. Therefore I consider Fallkniven knives to be Swedish.

Likewise, Ford is an American company. Even if some parts are sourced from other countries, or some vehicles are assembled in Canada and Mexico, Fords are American cars.

Here are a few of my Finnish and Swedish tools with a couple from Norway thrown in...:)

Top to Bottom:

Stromeng 8" Leuku (Norway)
Stromeng 9" Leuku (Norway)
Mora "Robust" (Sweden)
IIsakki-Jarvanpaa "Aito" Puukko (Finland)

Bahco Laplander (Sweden)
Fiskars X7 (Finland)

Nice stuff.
How do you like that X7?
That Aito Puukko is nice.

RB,

I really like the size of the X7 and how it handles camp chores. I have an X15 as well which I really enjoy using. The "Aito" is a phenomenal little puukko. I really love the super comfy barrel shape of the handle and the edge is beyond wicked sharp.
