Just wondering if there is an ideal spot anyone knows or have found threw there experience, or heard, for chopping sweet spot using a BK 9.
Thanks

I find about 3" from the very tip is where the weight really helps it dig in. Use the wrist snap chop and that thing just eats wood.

The 9 is kinda weird about its sweet spot. It depends on the type of wood that your cutting. I know that sounds funny, but ask around and you will find people in agreement.
Some woods the curve at the start of the sweep to the point is best, other woods its in towards the handle closer in than the middle of the knife.
I have chopped with a new 9 a Cam era 9, and my customized Cam era 9 blank. They all seem to be similar in having a shifting sweet spot depending on soft wood or hard wood.
YMMV though.

The BK9 has about 9" of sweet spots....

Not literally, but close. In my experience anything past the halfway point of the 9 really digs in. Awesome knife. I saw a thread where a guy claims that it outchopped his hatchet. I don't know what kind of truth there is to that though, but it is a hell of a chopper.

Mine out chopped my fiskars hatchet. Now it may well be due to my bad form but I did better my quite a bit with the BK9. Some where I posted a thread and pics a few years back.

I think the 9 is probably the baddest of all the Beckers, but it doesnt outchop my Fiskars X7. But it comes awfully close for a knife, and it is much more fun to use. I think if I put a convex edge on it the gap would be lessened even more.
