I just had to write up a post about Dwayne's (Leatherman's) work once again... he just sent me a picture of the sheaths he is making for my Purebred fighters. A work in progress as they are going to be sheaths with his fantastic pin-lock system. I will let the picture speak for itself.

Dwayne is a true artist and a great pleasure to work with!!!

-thanks to alphamaniv for posting the pic-

I'll do it. send 'em to me. I also have a pin lock from leather man for my 'coot and it rocks

Hey, those look kinda nifty online!;) Not nearly finished, but the general shape is there. That pin lock system is really growing on me, it solved the dilemma of that darn snap strap getting cut or getting in the way in general. A sheath I made for display got cut twice at the same show, one nearly halfway through the strap!

Thanks for posting that pic Alpha!:D

Dwayne, they look great, what kind of snake is that??

I’ve got a heap of red belly black snakes living around here. I bet they’d look nice with a black sheath,I seen a big fat fella just the other day.;)

I have had one of Dwaynes pin-lock sheaths in the past for a Satin Jack and it was bomber! I carried it upside down, attached to a backpack, and a few other ways. With the pin-lock in place the knife was locked in the sheath and I knew it would be there when I needed it. As opposed to having a strap with snap as the retention this just doesn't get in the way of the blade nor does it acidentally get opened from something brushing against it.

He can make sheaths as plain or ornate as you want... these happen to have Anaconda snakeskin inserts, but I have talked to Dwayne about all sorts of other skins he has that would be just as good looking... and if you want to kill something and have him make a sheath out of it I bet he would be happy to do so!

Anyway... I can't wait to get my hands on these for my PBF's and have already asked for a more tactical sheath for my Desert SH-E.

Red belly black snakes!!?? We GOTTA talk!!

Oh yea! I had forgotten about that pin lock Satin Jack sheath! That was the first pin lock I ever made, and the only one with the pin through the talon hole! I havent been able to pull that off on anything besides the SJ:confused: The handles go too far forward on the others to make it work.
