it's been a bit of a discouraging week for me. I'm sure most of you can relate to the feeling of being beaten over the head over a certain period of time, and just feeling dragged down and punched out by events.

So, much to the benefit of my mental well being, a package arrived from Ryan Weeks. Ever since I started that PiF thread over in Shoptalk, Ryan and I have stayed in touch and we've developed a friendship. He must have been picking up the vibe, because the gift he sent couldn't have been better, and couldn't have arrived at a better time.

Now that the week and all it's brought has come to a conclusion, I have started to shed the discouragement, and commit myself to looking ahead with the optimistic attitude that serves me well.

Lorien thanks for posting this, you have been very helpful since I first came in contact with you during the PIF thread. This knife is the least I could do, enjoy the knives! I hope your weekend is a good one, onward and upward.

Thanks Daniel and Matt, just an FYI this is a Lorien Design the "LA" Logo is his. I have had a lot of fun making these knives....

Now, the little knife, it's not the most useful size for hacking through the bush, however, my little girl has taken a real shine to it and I think that it will become her first knife.

The full size version...it's a VERY powerful knife. The steel isn't overly thick and it's about the perfect weight overall and quite nicely balanced. I've swung it through a few things and she's got some OOMPH! I'll be getting out into the forest this weekend to work on the trail, and this knife will be on my belt for sure.
 
I think Ryan is a maker to keep your eye on.
You know, one of the up and coming makers.
I have liked what I have been seeing from him.
