Swift cutting geometry....Is this knife ground thin behind the edge-how well it cuts?

I am probably getting this knife,but will have to order it online,without handling.How is the geometry of the blade on this knife,is it really thick behind the edge?Has anyone tested its cutting ability?How well does it pierce soft materials?Does the handle have any hot spots when used for prolonged cutting?All info welcome!
 
Mine measured out to .034". Not super thin, for sure, but not as atrocious as, say, my Gerber Steadfast @ ~.06". :eek::D No hot spots that I can detect. I haven't really used it for cutting yet, beyond paper, so...
 
Doent look like it would be much of a piercer or slicer. It looks more like it was designed for rough field work or battlefield conditions imho. Good luck
 
Yes, the Swift has a thicker grind than most other Cold Steel folders in my experience.
 
yes, to me it doesn't look like either piercer or slicer............nice knife... but I am probably getting another CS Voyager 4 inches in vg1.....My buddy has one new old stock......in box.....hollow grind...
