swimming with the rat 1

i was doin some creekwalking today and i came to a pretty deep spot (8 ft or so) with high banks, so i had to swim through with my rat 1 clipped to my shirt. i plan to go back to the spot and i was wondering if the aus8 would rust if i kept swimming with it.

If you just take it home and set it on the dresser, yes

The term "stainless" means it "stains less", or is more resistant to rust, not that it is "rust proof".

Without care, most steels will rust. The question of how fast depends on the chemical makeup of the steel, and whatever is in the water.

Fortunately, your knife should be good with a good shaking and a towel dry. If you have the time, taking it apart, cleaning the crud out, and oiling it are all excellent ideas.
