You've all seen them - old style, bone-handled, fingernail-opening pocketknife with a pivoting handguard that folds flat against the open side of the handle, and opens with the blade into a hand guard. (AG Russell sometimes has them, Smoky Mountain has one by Puma in the March catalog). Since a lot of you 'hard-use' guys complain about handle ergos, lack of a sufficient guard, etc. wouldn't combining the swing-guard with a one-hand opening be perfect ? Someone could make a really smooth guard that blends into the handle when closed, and won't inhibit opening performance. What'dya think ?

It seems to me that this wouldn't work very well. The thumb stud or hole would have to be moved up the blade to stay out of the path of the guard. This would be difficult to open quickly.

Maybe on a CUDA...

I collect Swing Guards. It would be hard to configure them with single hand opening.IMHO.
If some one would make one I would have one.
