Those two look really nice! Personally, I've never seen the attraction, but I'm looking forward to seeing all the pics.

puukoman,

That is what I used to think until just recently when my young daughter needed a knife she could whittle with and did not feel comfortable with her Peanuts, or any of my Whittlers, Stockmans and the like. We went shopping at Bass Pro Shops last week so she could handle some of their different knives to get a feel of what "felt right" to her.. And sure enough she picked out a very nice medium size Swing Guard. She said she liked it because the blade locks in place and the guard will prevent her little fingers from slipping down to close to the blade.. I'll post a picture later today..

Incredible variety of knives there nifrand!. Rusty, Is that CS red stag! Jivedaddy & sunburst, those S&M's are ever so sweet!.

Here is my Daughters "Old Red Cheetah Cub" from the pocket worn series, reference back a few posts at post # 5. At 3 1/2 inches closed this little cub sits perfect in her hand for whittling. I have got her started on whittling bars of soap to turn into small animals. She is really enjoying it..:)

sunnyd, that would very nice, if it was red stag, however, it is the dark amber stag bone, which is the standard scale material used by CS on their regular line of knives.

This are my two, a scanned image from a comparison review I wrote a couple of weeks ago. Top is the Canal Street Cutlery, bottom is the AG Russell (German-made).

Wow!. It sure is a nice choice of stag-bone material to be used on there regular line of knives, That is for sure!!.

The sad thing is that I parted with this one recently after years of it being a safe queen. :(

Sometimes I get in that mood to clean house, or should I say clean safe. :)
