I was in the market for an SAK because my constant companion for over 20 years has disappeared.

The model that I had has the same features as the present version of the Victorinox Camper.

I have grown accustomed to that model. Features of interest to me are the scissors and pliers plus what is on the camper (two blades, can opener, bottle opener and saw, awl, corkscrew). Ideally I would like the scissors and the pliers, but could sacrifice the scissors for the pliers because I also carry a Victorinox Executive, which has scissors.

Any suggestions?

Or you could look for a Handyman. It's a Craftman with a corkscrew instead of the phillips. It has been discontinued for a year or two but there are still some around.

The Tradesman might be a good choice...you may have to order it from a European vendor, tho. I don't think I've seen those on U.S. Websites.

If you really want the pliars, I don't think you have alot of options in the Swiss Army knives.
Would you consider a multi-tool, like a Leatherman?

If so, check out the Leatherman Juice product line.

Good luck,
Allen.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I will look through those knives.

allenC, I do own a Wave and love it, but I don't always have it with me. The SAK is on me always (other than in airplanes!).

Frank thank you for the suggestion about discontinued knives. It seems as though an internet search will find a larger variety of SAKs because the no-longer-manufactured SAKs are still on the market.

Regards,

David
