Swiss Army Khukri anyone?

How many blades will the kukri have ? Files, screwdrivers etc?

... getting my first foldable Swiss Army Kukri. It should come in very handy. Beat that, Busse folder! :D

Maybe the companion blades for kukri's will be multiblades... Blades will be made of crap 420 steel and be mirror polished ... Sorry, don't have anything constructive to offer here... Jason.

Thank you for the story. I would have totally missed it if it were not for your post.

Jason,
I hope you are wrong. Victorinox is a great company whose products have excellent fit and finish. I hope they will put in some real effort and attempt to make higher quality steel blades.

well victorinox while a good knife i've had the blade on one break at the middle for an unknown reason, cutting rope while camping than crack :(. oh well i wouldnt mind seeing what they could do :).

Geez, what kind of rope was it, steel?? LOL  I've never heard of that before.

Yea, I'm curious to see what they can do as well. There is another Khukri thread on the forums right now, where they are all worshiping Himilayan Imports. I wonder if Victorinox will have the dedication to work to that standard.

nope, just thick nylon rope...i had the knife like 6 or so years and when i got it was already at lease 2 years old. i assume it was a stress fracture that finally gave up, oh well it still got its use and when it was retired i ended up re-grinding and polishing the blade so it was still usable somewhat. i still got to get me another one but that one i got when i became obsessed with MacGyver :D lol.

Morgoth412, come worship at the altar of HI. But be warned, there is no going back...;)

I wouldn't underestimate Victorinox. They haven't been around for so long and being so successful for producing inferior blades.

We shall have to wait and see. ;)

On one hand I love the idea of a Khukri with a pair of tweezers and a toothpick in the handle. (yes I'm serious, I'd laugh for months over that one)
and on the other, My company is owned and operated by the Sikhs so I'd love to see a serious Kirpan.
I eagerly anticipate these critters and I hope they rock.

MacGyver is freakin amazing. I was little when it was out, but I still remember some of the episodes clearly. In fact, now I don't have to seeing how it's back on T.V.!! I don't know if you get it where you are, but TVland is playing it. Great show!

Bob,
I certainly will once I get myself out of my parents control, LOL. But right now I don't beleive they would appreciate having what is basically a short sword hanging on my wall!:p

ahhhh you lucky lucky person!!! it hasnt been re-shown here in quite some time and have resorted to downloading episodes off kazaa. i always loved the show and can remember soooooo many episodes i really loved. it showed mainly when i was fairly young but when i got my first victorinox i tells ya i was the Mac :D lol. maybe i tried breaking the top of an oxygen bottle or something to cause the stress in the blade, but i think i'd remember :D :p.

man now i got some many great shows/movies from that time flooding back to memory, ahhh return to witch mountain...lol better go now *sneeks out from my geekyness* :p

Come on Kevin, they have small 15" ones. You know you want to. Push the envelope, if they tell you to get rid of it, you can send it to me.;)

What if somebody, say a fellow collector like myself, sent one to you? It has happened before. You could hardly refuse such a gift. Your parents would have to see the logic in that, right?

Who knows. They would probably send it back, but we could always give it a shot. I wonder how crazy they would go upon seeing it:D LOL!

Edited to add: You need benchstones to sharpen a Khukri right? I'm picturing trying to sharpen this thing on my sharpmaker!
