Hello i need some Swiss Army Knife help! I have decided to buy a new Swiss Army Knife i'm looking for a Alox model to use for EDC/Whittling.

I'm kind of leaning toward to Pioneer model since the tools on that paticular Swiss Army Knife have similar tools the Camillus U.S. Army Demo knife that i already own.

But i don't know what do you think should i Purchase the Pioneer? or should i purchase a different Alox Swiss Army Knife?

Any and all suggestions or advice you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

there's nothing wrong in getting a pioneer... its a strong and superbly made knife that gonna serve you very well... its a good start for your SAKs world..

if you want something lighter, get a recruit... its more affordable, got large and small blades, no backtools so its comfortable to hold, friendly looking and got some more tools plus tweezers and toothpick.

some surely would give some more helpful options for you... goodluck buddy..

I think the best stock Victorinox alox for whittling is the harvester. It has no keyring so its smooth to hold, and it has a the pruner and saw added. They are discontinued now though, but if you can find one I'd go with that.

If you're looking for something similar to your Demo knife, try the Wenger version of the Soldier. It's like a Pioneer, but with a bale instead of an uncomfortable keyring.

The pioneer and the farmer are both awesome knives. I would buy a pioneer for edc because it's light and thin. For wittling I would just buy a $7 mora clipper.

Recruit was my very first pocket knife. Great little knife. If it wasnt for your Alox preference I would suggest the Tinker. Still have mine I bought in 1995 and carried it as my only EDC forever and a day.
