I textured a couple of guards today with some Swiss Beading Tools that I got at the jewelery supply house. These are a round tool with a dimple on the face that raises a round bead when you tap it into an unhardened metal surface, very interesting texture and gives nice light reflection as well. It takes a bit of time to do it right but I like the effect.

George,

Sounds pretty interesting. Got pictures of the surface? or the tool?

Thanks,

Dan

The tool itself is pretty small, about 1/8" diameter shank and 1/32" or less working face. Primary use for the tool is to set stones in jewelery by rolling a tiny bead of metal over the edge of the edge of the stone when it is sitting in a pocket. Secondary use is to give a bright raised beaded texture to the metal surface.

Maybe Santa will bring me a digital camera for Christmas.
