Swiss knife laws?

I will be leaving for Switzerland later this week, and need advice on what knives to take, and where I can carry them.

I was planning on taking an SAK, not just because I'll be in Switzerland, but because they are fantastic tools.

I was also planning on taking my Buck 301 stockman, for a dedicated cutter.

First of all, what are the knife carrying laws in Switzerland? Blade length, lock or not, etc? What are the places you can't carry one?

Can you carry one, in your pocket, on a train? If not, would it be okay to carry a knifeless one on a train? Could you carry one on a train if it was in your bag? Or a bag from a knife shop?

(Please respond as quickly as possible- I am leaving very soon, and need to know as soon as possible)

Thanks in advance
Preston

Each canton will have its own laws. They generally don't like people carrying daggers or larger fixed blades. It will be almost impossible to get a straight answer out of anyone, especially if you don't read/speak the local language.

You are pretty safe with the SAKs of course. Small locking knives should be ok.

Trains are not a problem. There are no security checks or anything like that. The trains are great for getting around!

Basically, you are unlikely to get into trouble, and so it will not be an issue carrying anything.

Switzerland is beautiful! I hope you have a good trip!

I've heard that knives with "mechanical locking systems" are not legal. But what exactly does this mean.
I have a SOG Trident with me here, which is an assisted opening, and Im afraid to carry it.
