most of my Vics say...VICTORINOX
SWITZERLAND
STAINLESS
ROSTFREI

But my new Swisschamp says ...VICTORINOX
SWISS MADE
STAINLESS

Anyone knows why , is the Swisschamp new or perhaps its an old one ?
I think i can remember a thread a while back about stamps but cant find it .

Perhaps this indicates that it was produced specifically for the English/US markets? That or you got one that isn't "ROSTFREI"

My brand new SwissChamp has the "Victorinox Switzerland Stainless Rostfrei" stamp. I have no idea why yours would have a different stamp.

Rostfrei is the version to have the other one is made in China and assembled in Switzerland so it has the Made is Switzerland stamp.

it says VICTORINOX SWISS MADE and stainless and on the reverse it has OFFICIER SUISSE , the box and instructions are normal .There is nothing else different about it from any other vic .

I wasnt aware Victorinox had any of there parts made in China , are you sure and have you any more info .

Someone in Switzerland is going to have a cow if a rumor gets around that anything they (Victorinox) make is made in China!

Dunc5, you might try contacting the dealer where you purchased the knife. Maybe they could answer your question.

Its starting to bug me now , can you guys check the tang stamps on your SAKs and see if any of them say...

All of mine have the "Rostfrei" stamp. I would go to www.victorinox.com, find Vic's e-mail and ask them about it. They should know if it's just a different stamp that they use sometimes or if you (God forbid) got scammed by a dealer selling knockoffs.
