Hello Jose , I am a very big fan of the Swisstool , most of the answers to your questions can be found here in my swisstool review http://www.sosakonline.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=129&Itemid=35

The Spirit is very much like the Swisstool and is smaller/lighter but not exactly the same ( see pics )

Spirit.

Jose,
The Swisstool is of excellent quality, nothing is finer. You'll be more than happy with whatever model you choose. They're well thought out functional tools.
The sheaths they come with are absolute garbage. Plan on buying an aftermarket sheath if you'll be carrying your tool anywhere besides a desk job.

Hi Dunc5,
I just read your test of the Swisstool which was very nice. One thing I did notice was your red painted "Victorinox Swiss Tool" emblem was in pristine condition. Did you take the pictures seven years ago when you tool was still new? The reason I ask is only because after several months of use my emblem is all, but wiped away.
The second question I have is, it looks like you have the nylon sheath with velcro closure. This is the first time I saw this sheath. Can you comment on its quality, and durability?
Thanks in advance.

The pic in the review was of a recent one that wasnt very old ( I have about 3 ) . Yes the paint does come of but if you always keep it in the sheath when not using it that will prolong it .The nylon sheath with velcro is very common here in the UK along with the leather one of the same style . I could be wrong on this but the black ones with the snap button and red badge seem to be for the US market , and no they dont last that long . Had that sheath about two years and the velcro isnt as strong as it was .

Wow nice review

can someone give me picture of the file and serrated blade please

thx a lot

and also how much is it for the sheath, wrench and postage to australia??

any suggestion from where can i get it at best price?
i live in melbourne australia

Jose, I'll be in Melbourne between Christmas & the New Year. If you can wait that long & it doesn't get nicked from my check-in luggage, I'll happily bring one out to you if it'll help.

I worked in retail cutlery for several years and had the daily opportunity to play with all sorts of knives and tools. I settled on the swiss tool wth the 3 blades. It has a saw, a plain blade and a curved sheepsfoot serrated blade. I feel that the SwissTool is the current pinnacle of factory made multi tools. Leatherman is the original but I don't think any model can out-work the full size Swiss. Victorinox also takes good care of their customers with a fair warranty and good customer service. We used to send customers' knives back if they were broken or or failed during regular light chores. We'd usually get a brand new or repaired knife back for the customer within a couple weeks! All hail the SwissTool!

WOW
thx a lot guys
really2 thx

@freezergeezer
so do U live in melb? around how much is it?

Naah, I live near Henley-on-Thames, in the U.K. But I'm married to an Aussie & we'll be visiting friends in Melbourne. And watching Australia get thier backsides walloped in the Ashes, with any luck! :D

I figure that if you find a good price on a Swisstool via the internet & it's a lot cheaper to send it to me, then I can bring it out with me in December.
(Buying over the counter here is not the cheap way to go! ;) )
I have no idea what shipping to Oz will be for a swisstool - I just know what it costs us to send gifts there! :(
Hence my offer.

Try Felinevet (he's around here somewhere). He usually has good prices.
Also try Amazon.com & maybe just google around. There's lots of deals around.

Thx freeze
but i dont think ill be in melb that time

thx a lot by the way
