Anyone got one of these yet? I think it might just be the tool I have been looking for. I never have cared for the blunt serrated blade on the first Spirit, but this one looks pretty good!

Any opinions from owners/users? Thanks!

I've handled the Spirit S and the black oxide Spirit S but I only own the non-S version.

When handling the Spirit S at the store, I did remark that the drop point blade was a bit skinnier than I had expected. I don't think it's a problem but I thought it was worth mentioning.

Although the Spirit S does have a drop point blade, it also has the freaky serrated blade (shudder ;) ). I would have much preferred scissors instead of the serrated blade on the Spirit S (just like I would have preferred a drop point blade instead of the serrated blade on the non-S version). A small Swiss army knife with scissors might complement the Spirit S but it'd be nice to have everything you need in one multi-tool. If they ever come out with a "Spirit X" that has a drop point blade and scissors, I'll buy one.

Why couldn't they have deleted the serrated blade on the "S" and kept the scissors???

I agree about the hypothetical "Spirit X" with conventional knife and scissors. If one existed, it would be the perfect tool for me, and I would jettison the others that I've accumulated.

I wonder if it would be possible to switch the serrated blade out with a pair of scissors? Possible to get the tool apart?

I've seen pictures of some mods on one of the multi-tool forums. The tools are riveted in the handle, so replacing the blade involves drilling out the rivet and replacing - probably with a screw to allow future modification.
