I see on the Victorinox website that they make the Spirit with a pointed bladed and the scissors. Their number is 3.0224.L. Does anyone know where this model can be bought? I have searched using google, but haven't found that model, only the one that replaces the scissors. Thanks.

A Spirit with a standard blade instead of the combi edge would be the perfect multi tool for me.

I'm in the UK and have just mailed a few Victorinox dealers here, and none of them can get hold of this model.

I wish Victorinox would make them a bit more common as I would clearly prefer the standard blade and scissors of the other models. Hopefully it will happen soon. Thanks for the replies

Hmmmmmmm. A Spirit minus the blunt serrated blade? My Wave just might go on the auction block!

I was just thinking about this very thing today on the way home from work (long boring commute = lots of daydreaming). A Spirit with a conventional SAK knife blade, but retaining scissors. I was even thinking about seeing if Scibeer or someone would make me one if I sent some donor Spirits. I did not know that they actually made one - I hope it becomes available.

In the meantime, my Spirit with serration-ectomy will have to do.

yeah I've been hearing it's only in Europe now, maybe if the rest of us make enough noise we'll get it too! Here's hoping:

We wants it Vic!

I sent an e-mail to Victorinox yesterday asking when they might be available in the U.S. I haven't received a response yet, but when I do, I will post their answer here. Hopefully soon.

When I can get one, I would probably sell off my Swisstool X and Wave for the Spirit.

I finally received and answer from Victorinox. They said

"Thank you for contacting Victorinox Swiss Army. We currently only have
the Swisstool Spirit available with the serrated knife. You can view all
of our current pocket tools available by visiting www.swissarmy.com.

Please let us know if we can be of further assistance and thank you
again for contacting Victorinox Swiss Army."

Doesn't make sense, since the website lists it as an option, oh well.

I bought one off of Ebay about 2 years ago for about $50 with shipping. I love it. I've even grown to like the butter knife, I probably use that one more frequently.

I ground the serrations off my butter knife and bevelled it on both sides - It only took an hour on a Lansky. It's a nice compromise as the things you might do with a pointy blade can usually be done with other tools (like the awl). It's like a straight razor now.

Looks like these are available in the US now. I think it is an upgrade. I have a micra if I need scissors. I would much rather have the spearpoint blade on the multitool.

sorry for my lack of response, theyr in stock in my swiss company and avaliable for my us customers too.

the latest news are that the swiss army finally did buy an real multitool, an spl version of the spirit, black, blastingcap crimper, pointed blade and an spl green sheath, they ordered 10 tousand pcs and the overrun will be avaliable from me around mai o9.

Got mine today. This is very close to my ideal edc mutlitool. It has just the right implements that I want. Fit and finish are excellent, exactly what you would expect from Victorinox. For the record I have carried a 1st run Swisstool on my duty belt since they came out.

I would like to see a ruler, but I see where that would be hard to do with the slightly curved handles.

I also would like to see a snap on the sheath. Mine came with the leather sheath. The sheath itself is nice, but the small patch of velcro doesn't inspire much confidence.

Overall though I am very pleased.
