swisstool?

Get both with the original Swisstool or Swisstool X

Fit and finish on the Swisstools is top notch. The polished finish of the tool to be slippery when your hands are wet or otherwise greasy.

For overall utility I reccomend Leatherman tools. There are lots of variations and options to choose from to suit what you want to carry.

With either manufacturer you can't go wrong really. I say get one or two models from each company and see what you like better.

So many people have differing opinions of what they prefer. I say the best way is to actually use them and see if it fits your needs.

Love mine. Beat the hell out of it everyday. Best multitool I have used.

I have not tried leatherman, but the newer Gerbers are so crappy that it is unbelievable.

I have both the spirit and the standard larger version. Have used them both quite a bit but the larger one I have had for about 2 years, the spirit about 6 months. I prefer the spirit as it has all I need in a smaller package. It works very well for all I need. I find the pliers to be very functional on both models but actually prefer the ones on the spirit as they are a little thinner.

I greatly prefer them over the several Leatherman tools I've owned. More comfortable, stronger, just seem to perform better for me.

The Swisstool X is the best MT I have ever owned.

I used it routinely and I prefer it to Leatherman tools.

It is a big beast of an MT though, the Spirit is more EDC sized.

I have a Swisstool and have had it for about 11 years. It works and looks like it did the day I bought it. Except for the markings coming off, it fits my hands better than the smaller leatherman models.

Try both and use the one that works for you.

I have the larger Swisstool which typically stays in my car and a Swisstool spirit which stays in my daily carry bag. I've tried leatherman, gerber and a couple of off brands but really can't find anything I like better than the swisstool due to it's ease of use, quality tools, locking mechanism, etc. I do wish however, that they made an even lighter version of the Spirit.
