Our governor in Oklahoma just signed into law a bill which overturned the previous law banning switch blades and spring assited open knives from being carried upon our persons. Wow legal to carry guns and knives. What's next marijuana. One can only hope!

The law goes into effect in November. Plenty of time to shop around for a good auto.

... But A/O knives were already legal, I thought...?

Good for you guys.

I'm afraid after the unfortunate incident in Baltimore, we may see a number of states seeking to ban the carrying of spring assisted knives, since some don't seem to be able to tell them from the evil, no-good switchblades. Good to see at least one state got it right before this unpleasantness.

But guns & knives + pot (or booze) = not so good. ;)

Baltimore aside, the trend is quite to the opposite...many states have reduced or even outright eliminated their restrictions on knives in the past few years. The cities with the most restrictive knife laws are often the ones with similar levels of restrictions (control) on other things like guns etc. and use many of their enforcement actions (fines) as a revenue generating tool as much as anything else.

I understand your concern, but I don't really see it as being a major threat at this point, the legislative trends are definitely in our favor when viewed on a large scale.

Not happening.
Don't be such a downer. We have a republican governor now and many of the Democrats in the General Assembly are old. Even my democrat friends think their reps are all out-of-touch old farts and can't wait for them to die or retire.

That's a nice thought, and hopefully it comes to be that way, but there are also plenty more foaming at the mouth liberals waiting to take their places. Especially in light of the recent riots in Baltimore, I don't see a push to loosen restrictions on anything weapons related getting anywhere in the legislature, which is almost out of session now anyway.

Overall, there has been a chain of successes by people with our similar interests in other states this year, this Oklahoma bill (now law) is a great example.
