Today I picked up a BM 923 Osbourne and a BM 921 Osbourne. I've tried to find some discussion on here about those two but have found nothing. Is there a reason? I think the switchback is a very good looking knife, maybe not as durable as some others I have, but seems fine for light work. So does anybody have one of these? Love it? Hate it? Why? Thanks, just curious.

The Switchback series were great looking knives, something Batman would have in his tool belt. Just kidding... ;) The main blade was S30V and the secondary was 440C, and the aluminum scales had a powder coating to lend some grip. Going back to Benchmade's info on discounted models, these won the 2003 Shooting Industry award as knife of the year.

But times and tastes changed, and with different Osborne designs to follow these were discontinued. I owned one in blue and liked it a lot, but you're right, for heavy work I would choose something like the 950.

To look up info on these the Benchmade site has a complete list of discontinued models.

Thanks jkarp, I will follow up on that at the BM site. I just wondered if anybody still had these and what they thought of them. I got those two from a local store with very little turnover in their stock. Several older models on display.

I snagged a 921S a couple years ago for about $120. Really cool little knife, sees a fair bit of use as a gentleman's folder.
