switchblade release malfunction

Hey guys,
This is my first thread here so let me know if I'm doing anything wrong. I recently a purchased a dual action folding switchblade, meaning it can work as a normal folding knife and also as a switchblade when a hidden button is pressed. This knife is decent quality but lately I've been having a major problem with it. Lately the lock on the spine of the handle that keeps the blade open has been causing the spring to open the knife to activate. This can be a problem when trying to open or close the knife manually because it can cause it to suddenly spring open. I've tried tinkering with it but I haven't had any real success, if anything it's gotten worse. I've also noticed that if I push on the knife while the blade is closed it will release the spring and open it which I feel is dangerous.
If anyone has any idea how I can fix this problem I'll greatly appreciate it.

Sounds like an Al Mar piece. Look them up on the web and contact their service dept. about the problem. They may have either a suggestion on what to do or tell you how to get the knife back to them for service.

There are dozens of DA automatics available. How does it "sound" like an Al Mar?

As good a guess as any others out there since the OP didn't specify manufacturer. Trying to aim him at whatever manufacturer's service department for their expertise.
