I decided to switch my EDC (this week!) from small Seb to Mini Grip. I still love the small Seb but the smooth lines and light weight of the Mini Grip have won me over. I think the cheaper cost of the Grip and the fact that I don't worry about damaging it as much as I worry about the Sebenza might have something to do with it too. I still carry the Mnandi while wearing a suit to work but I may try out the Grip at work too. What can I say, it's a great little knife.

No problem with that. It's all personal preference anyway. Just because a knife costs more doesn't mean it's going to be better for everyone.

It's hard to fault the Mini Grip as a day-to-day cutting tool. I have a Small Seb, but find the smaller Axis Lock Benchmades to be much more practical knives.

There are definite advantages to my mini-RSK over my small Sebbie. Right now, I've settled into an EDC rotation of mini-RSK, small regular Sebbie, or Caly 3. The mini-RSK is ambi and is much easier to open 7 close tham my small Sebenza. The thumb lug on my regular Sebenza is the worst part about it. It's very difficult for me to open dependably.

The mini-RSK has that high grind that's almost like Spyderco's flat grind. It's very easy to keep sharp and the FRN scales are double tough for warehouse work where they tend to scrape things and get dropped. If the handle was 1/4 longer, or that finger guard was less pronounced so I could grip forward a bit, it would be just about perfect.

The Caly 3, of course, is perfect. It's just that the other two get so jealous... :D

I had a small regular Sebenza and it was also difficult to open. I dont know if they are all defective but I also have a large Sebenza 21 and it's very easy and smooth. You can't flick it like a Benchmade but the difference between my large 21 and small regular is night and day.
