Has anyone switched blades on their Sebs? I resently got a "TallPall Calvary" It is stunning
but I believe would flow better with a gold thumb stud and back spacer vs. blue So I was thinking of switching a gold stud rain drop damascus to Pauls knife. I ask here
because I have yet to dismantle a knife for cleaning and don't want to go through the hassle
if it is not going to fly. I think someone may of said in another thread that each blade was fitted to each individual knife.
thanks
Jeff

Hi Jeffrey,

It is my understanding through discussions with CRK some time ago, that the back titanium scale is matched to the blade so that the framelock will function properly. As you know, the tolerances are very low. That is what contributes to that great lockup. I too at one time wanted to do mix and match with a unique. It may be ok, but I would make a quick phone call to CRK to make sure. You don't want to cause yourself any unnecessary frustration..

Let us all know.. :)

Recently ? :D like a few hours before your post ? Jeffrey if you switch just the front slabs from one to the other it should work,. Funny you should mention that because I called CRK when I first got the original and happenned to have a small unique with a raindrop damascuss blade and thought the same exact thing... I never had the guts to try.... Hey where is the picture? Glad you got it ! Enjoy and God Bless-paul
edited to add: BTW they both should be either regulars or classics of the same size etc....

"Resently" It's a relative term. Ok! yeah! It was about an hour Paul. 58 mins. actually.
SWITCHING slabs..........That I believe will work.
I'll go buy a digital camera today and post some pics.:D

Thanks guys

Sebenza blades are not automatically interchangeable. Each blade is individually fitted to each lock - that is one of the factors that sets Sebenzas apart from others!!

You should be able to switch the front face (handle slab) without a problem, but keep the blade and the lock together!
