Switching Police Model Blades

Can the blade from the standard stainless, serrated Police model be put in the G10 handles of the FFG version? In other words, I may like to have the standard blade grind with the G10 handles.

(I'm assuming the serrated version of the G10 model is an FFG profile like the plain edge?)

Thanks.

The Police 3 blade is slightly longer than the original model and also has a 50/50 choil, so probably not.

There were G10 handled versions of the original knife made, but I really don't know how hard it would be to get a hold of one.

The stainless model is also pinned construction, so you would have to drill out the pivot hole in the hardened steel tang, and do it precisely enough to maintain the tolerances on the lock. Good luck with that.

If I understand you correctly, Spyderco once made what you are looking for.

They show up on eBay from time to time.

Good point. Hadn't thought about the pinned construction.

Thanks.

Did they ever make a police in g10 with a spyderedge and the swedge like above or like the ss models?

It should be noted that the original run of G-10 Police models with saber grind blades and swedge tip were unlined as well, making them very light weight. The second release were flat grind with a single liner. I haven't managed to snag a saber grind serrated yet, but I haven't been searching too diligently lately..

there's one you may like on fleebay right now ...not G10 but CF handled, serrated, saber ground with swedge.
