Swivel Knife

Just got a swivel knife.
What a cool tool.
I work with X-Actos, single edge razors and snap off utility knives for a living.
Looking at the swivel knife, I thought it odd and that it would be awkward to use.
Boy was I wrong. It is so intuitive.
Very cool.

Of course, as with anything new, I'm going to need a bunch of practice with it.
I am looking forward to that.

Here are my first two attempts at carving and shading.

Tips, tricks, instructions are welcome.

There is a wonderful book at Tandy by Al Stohlman about the different techniques of the swivel knife. Its amazing what you can do with that tool.

The little roller sharpening jig will help you keep a good smooth edge on that tool, which is key to good lines.
