I am kind of interested in a sword-cane just merely for the concept. I wouldn't use it until I grow old most likely, lol, but does anyone know any models of high quality that are in the $150-$250 range?
What are the characteristics of them, and what would you look for exactly... or are they all just gimics?

Thanks,
Cleary

what kind of sword cane? Do you want one of those like in the Zatoichi movies? Or a more blunt-edged, piercing type blade (usually somewhat similar to late-period smallsword blades)?

I assume these must be quite illegal to carry but I do keep a sword umbrella in the stand at the front door. Please don't tell my wife what it is ; )

For the price range you are speaking of, a Cold Steel one is not a bad idea. However they did have a big recall on a lot of them because of lock failure when swung or traumatized during a strike. Hopefully they have improved. If they have, they might be what you are looking for. Because of a low key recall, I would wait for a while if you are going to buy online. Wait for them to sell the defects and get in the good stuff, if you know what I mean.
