i have no intention of actually carrying one (i beleive they are illegal in nyc), but i've always wanted one. are the ones at www.swordcane.com any good? or the one from cold steel for that matter? any help anyone can give me would be appreciated.

Burger sword canes are the best you can do. Your only other options are other hand/custom makers or high-end antiques.

The French still make nice ones, but I don't know of anyone importing them now. The Cold Steel's are better than the cheap United imports, but many were unhappy with them.

Personally, if I was in the market, I'd buy a Burger.
 
CAS has some nice ones. Especially if you are into either skulls or dogs. I like theirs because they have the triangular cross section that was outlawed by the Geneva Convention.
