Hey,
This is a kinda obscure question: What is better for a sword; a consistent taper from the edge of the blade to the centre of the cross-section (like most blades) or a curve, where the blade is really thin at the edge but slowly thickens in a curve towards the centre?
Thanks Xynos

EDIT: Apologies for obscurity, Im writing a script for an animation and wish for the characters sword to be accurate. The character is a total BA and during the zombie apocalypse (when this is set) he has so far protected himself with a massive hand-and-a-half blade that is much to large for anyone else to wield (amongst others such as pistol-shotguns). He can walk into a mob of about 40 zombies and will just hack and slash in no particular style that was taught to swordsmen, more like swinging a baseball bat. However, because of his strength and the blade's massive size he can get away with this technique, the blade (after drawing many scale models) will be 950mm*150mm(widest, 70mm down the length)*10mm and is loosely based on the shape of this: http://www.battleorders.co.uk/media...f78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/n/n/nn1276.jpg
After doing some calculations the blade will weigh 5kg, with the balance slightly higher than normal because of the large tip.

Better for what?

Cutting, Stiffness, Balance?

That question does not mean much without more details. What type of sword. Thickness, weight, length, balance desired. Cutting sword? Thrusting sword? Straight, curved?

Yes, of course.
