l
a while back.My picture taking is still bad.I left it at work will get measurements tomorrow.

It looks as if someone cleaned the 'rust' and patina off the tang (where the inscriptions are). If it is 'real' that will detract from the value as will attempting to sharpen it.

First step: Leave it in its original condition!
Second step: You are here and asking.
Third: Heed knowledge when given. (Always a good idea anyway.:D )

I don't have the answers on this one but soon you will get them.
Here is a great information site while you are waiting.

Good luck!

edit: Take some pictures in indirect sunlight at differing angles to bring out any patterns in the steel.

Yep it has been brutalized before I got it .I found that site while scrolling down this forum and have been attempting to ID some of the markings.
Very informative thanks.Any help will be appreciated as I know nothing about these swords.Worse yet his dad removed the handle and replaced it with pvc .
