Greetings All, I am a long time Civil War reenactor with the First AL Cav and many other units while traveling the country in the military. Most recently I have branched out to do a Military medical officers impression and was in need of a Confederate type Militia officers sword. So as all newbees do I stated cruising ebay in search of something that may work.. This is what I found.. It is from an antique shop in Georgia and was bought at an estate sale or so I'm told.. It appears quite old an has something of a military motif about it and it was cheap so it may work.. But I was interested in seeking out the help of your experts in perhaps sheading more light on the piece as to originality, maker etc.. The wood handle on this sword gives me some suspicion that it may be put together from parts or the original handle was scarft for some other sword but I'm not sure.. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Since it has not arrived yet, I can only ask that you please go to the item listing on ebay and take a look as I can not seem to figure out how to attach a photo to this thread..
