Hi.
Does anyone have any information on a single edged curved sword with these markings on. The handle seems to be of a homemade rough type, and original scabard was snakeskin covered. The sword a bit sorry for itself but curious to the markings. Thanks

Is there some sort of a post limit that precludes a low poster from sharing photos?

Your link shows an error. Have a look at the ways to post pics.

The best way is to upload to https://www.imgur.com and then copy the link to your pics and insert it into your post. There are instructions on how to do it in the bladeforums.com link I inserted above.

If that doesn't work, you can email pics to me and I'll post them for you.

Hope to see your sword soon, one way or another.

Interesting, not what I expected at all. The pummel and guard aren't exactly right but I'm thinking shaska saber from the Caucasus mountains.

I dont know if the handle is original or added later. There are 3 more 6 pointed stars in circles by the hilt. The scabbard is a mess but had snakeskin over it. I was wondering about removing handle to stabalise metal of tang and if handle original putting it back ?

looks like a good call as I have found some similar types of photo's. The hilts are wooden and similar as well but a bit more finished than this, although it seems on mine the grooves are an attempt to give grip. The rooster mark on the blade of one is the same so its looking in the right area. The condition is down to it being in a farm building for years, and not having much TLC, so I now have a starting point.

Thanks
