Sword laws in China - Shanghai

Hi guys,

I'm planning on relocating to Shanghai in a few months and would like to bring my katanas (MAS semi custom and Howard Clark L6) with me. Just wondering what's the laws behind owning swords in China. I've read several posts regarding knife laws but nothing on swords. I'm thinking that sword ownership shouldn't be a problem as quite a few manufactures are located in China (Hanwei)

Just wanted to make sure there's no issues with this as the swords are a significant investment to me thanks.

I can't say I ever saw any swords for sale while I was in China but I never saw much of anything besides kitchen knives, cleavers, and farm chopping blades in the markets. I was told there was an "ethnic community" (the Chinese are always talking about ethnic groups without ever telling you what they actually mean) that made swords for traditional use north of where I was. On the other hand, this is a communist dictatorship and I wouldn't expect them to be overly sword friendly in Shanghai.
