Sword/machete display methods

So I'm getting a kitten and having my machetes/knives strewn all over the place is no longer a viable option, how do you suggest I either mount them to my wall of store them? I was thinking of one of those 8 tiered wall mounts but they look cheap and flimsy and may not fit my shorter blades. All suggestions welcomed

I have a bunch in an umbrella stand but that's not the best for display. racks intended for guns would probably work, at least for long models like cavalry sabers, maybe not for machetes.

Make a bunch of slots in a board and then screw a strip of wood over the cut end and mount to the wall--you've now got a vertical hanging rack.

Not entirely sure I'm following, sorry I'm an IKEA kind of guy but there's a first time for everything lol

Do you have a Michaels or hobby lobby where you live? They both sell some glass diplay cases hat can be wall mounted and look very nice. They can order different sizes as well.

I do but I'm looking more for something that holds up to around 10-15 blades

I think I see what 42 was saying. Get a 1x4 and cut slits in it. Then cover the side you sawed in from with another 1x4 and you can mount it to the wall. Like a straight knife block kinda thing. Wouldnt work if they were in their sheaths though.
