I come across a thread ago about SoS, Sword of Shiva.

Is this how you measure the sharpness/convex of blade?

Nope, it's the carving along the spine of the blade.

note the sword of shiva is shown as 'Fuller' in the image.

the term in nepali is 'Aunlo Bal', from the list on the same page. it can be a deep forged groove(s) or a decorative impressed/carving sometimes inlaid with brass.
