Recently I stumbled upon these two weapons-a (we think) percussion-cap 1850's Russian pistol (don't know for sure), and an unidentified sword. I really have no clue where to start with looking for what the sword might be. Any clues?

If there's any more information/pictures I can attempt to provide, please ask!
Thanks!

Yep, judging mostly from the handle, the sword looks Filipino to me. I'd start looking there.

I believe the pistol's maker marks are in Cyrillic, yes, but we couldn't identify those marks with any known Russian pistol makers of the time that we could find.
And thanks!

The handle on that blade looks Thai or Filipino to me. If you're thinking of preserving their value I suggest you don't do anything drastic to them, like heavy cleaning or polishing, till you figure out what they are

Thanks, and we haven't. After some more research, we have found very similar handle styles in some antique Filipino swords, but the blade curve is never the same.
