Quick question:
Can either CPM 3V or CPM 4V be forge welded to make a thicker and longer blade? The largest bars are 50mm by 650mm by 3.5mm.(2" x 26½" x 0.137795"), and I'm looking at needing 1000mm by 10mm by 50mm (39.3701" x 0.393701" x 2").
If they can, then any technical advice would be greatly appreciated, if they can't, just reply with "no

I doubt you will have success forge welding 3V the way you describe. It isn't friendly to either forging or welding.

You haven't filled out your profile, so I don't know where you live, but NJSB has 36" X. 375" X 2" in 3V. It is actually oversize thickness around .400". If you need a full meter due to the tang length, weld on a tang extension.

Many suppliers get their steel in bars around 1 meter. They cut these in shorter pieces for shipping ease. That is why the 13.1" and 26.25" lengths are common. Call the suppliers and see if they will ship a whole bar.

IIRC Jerry Hossonm ground some great swords out of the stuff (Wayback here somewhere)
