I own two old Japanese (real) and was wondering what they would be worth today. Can somebody direct me in the right direction??
One is an old maybe 1940's era military standard officer issue. And the other is a old ceremonial type (fairly plain).
Both blades are razor sharp and in near perfect condition, a few "blotches", but not deep rust.
There is what looks like kana type characters under the handle. But I can't read Japanese.

Any ideas where to go? Who to talk to?
Thanks,

lik serial numbers ans such they are most likely factory made Shin Guntos, made for the war effort. Many older blades were fitted inn plain fittings and taken to the battlefields though. There are many specialists who are qualified to identify and appraise swords, who can decipher tang markings and such. California seems to house most of these pros.
