Hey folks, let's see the swords in yer collections!

I'll confess off the bat that a lot of my stuff is what you'd call cheap, though if the sword is manufactured to be functional, and I like the look of it, I don't mind picking up affordable blades. Here's most of mine:

I imagine the 25" khukuri on top could qualify as a sword:

Your karabi, did it use a hanwei blade, I've re-handled both of mine, great inexpensive projects, G.

I think you might be referring to the short dha in the 5th pic? That was actually an antique estimated around the 19th century, sold to me by a chap out of Australia. It's well aged, but looks like it was also taken care of. The handle on this one is wrapped in little rings of woven rattan/cane. I'd love to own a larger dha/krabi someday too.

The dha is cool, but I'm biased...

Thanks! They are a pretty sweet design. I'd love to get my hands on a longer one someday... considered that Cozun company in thailand, but have since read some critical reviews of their wares. I guess the wait continues. :(

I don't think any of my stuff counts as a sword per say...
I've got a 12" barong, 15" golok, 14" pira, 17" Ilocos bolo (blade lengths)...
they're more working blades than anything else, short-swords at best...

I do have a Jun Silva Pinuti and a Himalayan Imports 25" Kobra if that counts...

maybe someday I'll have a willow-leaf dao, a da-dao, a kampilan, a kalis taluseko, a chang pingpu dao, a parang nabur, a khanda... etc. but I doubt it.

Ain't nothin wrong with affordability CSG! That's the route I go more often.

Is that TFW's Kris2 that you've got there? How's that treatin' ya?

Sure is. Ain't murdered any Jack o' Lanterns with it yet, but perhaps someday. :D Has an almost musical whipping sound when swung properly through the air... second only to the pleasing timbres of the mighty ke tri I got from HI.

*sigh* Nice, hopefully I have swords someday, my ideal collection of swords are Khanda, Kalis Sundang, Kampilan, Willow Leaf Dao, and Parang Nabur... and of course there's other big blades that range from more machete-like to more sword-like that you can see me already having an interest in.
