Swords finally illegal in Australia

Guess i would become a sikh, if my collecting status wasnt good enough! not a good one with a turban just a partial one with a steel bracelet & a sword. ;)

I wonder how this will affect Wandi over at Valiant Company? Eventually people will be forced to have Nerf material surgically grafted to their knuckles because of the widespread use of fists.

Can't help but wonder how many Australian deaths are attributable to alcohol and cigarettes--either though disease or traffic accidents.

Also wonder how the numbers would compare to the deaths by sword, or even guns, for that matter.

You can go here and take a look around. A "Kukri" is a Prohibited Weapons (COW). Wow it seems worse then I thought. Which they define as;

"Prohibited weapons - these weapons which are considered inappropriate for general possession and use without an Exemption or an Approval from the Chief Commissioner of Police"

http://203.25.230.66/weaponsid/Content/weaponslist.asp

edited to add that they also list Kukri as a Prohibited Imports item.

After reviewing the list of prohibited and banned tools, it occurs to me that the panel making the determination had no oysters on it. :)

Wow after reading the list of banned knives, they could have saved themselves some space and made a list of knives people could have. Though I dunno what those would be, other than butter knife or putty knife.

weirdest definition of a kuk ,Ive ever heard! :barf:

Weapon #: 0203
Weapon Id Information

Category: Prohibited Imports (B709B)
Type: Knives & Daggers
Description: Kukri
Comment: "Dagger", being a sharp pointed stabbing instrument (other than an oyster knife), ordinarily capable of being concealed on the person and having (a) a flat blade with cutting edges (whether serrated or not serrated)along the length of both sides; or (b) a needle-like blade, the cross section of which is elliptical or has 3 or more sides, but not including instruments such as swords or bayonets."

Whats your input on this Rod? from this it sounds bad, are you sorted?

cheers,

Wow.

They've certainly expanded the "collectables" market.

pepper spray collectors, citronella spray collectors, slingshot collectors, laser pointer collectors, short-stick collectors, bat collectors, spanner collectors, hammer collectors, screwdriver collectors...

I think they've out-done California

Spiral, this is only the State of Victoria, though my understanding is that other States may follow , some items have been banned for a long time eg ''daggers'' I believe genuine collectors would be exempted . the description on the customs form for importation is key here. Watching it all with interest.
Cheers Rod

Hoplophobic Morons. What else can you expect? Next they'll be banning plastic toy swords and guns just like their idiot English forbears.

Obviously it's not about safety, but about control.

Fools & Knaves.
